Experience the Wonders of Peru's Hidden Gem - The Salkantay Imperial Trek!
Salkantay Imperial Trek, often referred to as Peru’s hidden gem, takes you through an enchanting landscape marked by Inca and Peruvian style villages, a starkly beautiful barren terrain, and breathtaking mountain peaks. This region, rich with centuries-old culture, remains untouched by the modern world. The trek involves crossing the formidable Salkantay Pass at an altitude of 4,600m, which includes long climbs and descents. Although this trek presents a challenge, it rewards participants with stunning landscapes, spectacular mountain views, and a unique cultural experience.
Our Salkantay Imperial Trek package offers an exhilarating combination of trekking in the awe-inspiring foothills of the Salkantay Mountain and exploration of the Amazon Jungle at Puerto Maldonado, Peru. The trek traverses high Andean valleys, rocky mountains, and pristine forests leading to Machu Picchu, providing unrivaled views of the Salkantay Mountain and the Machu Picchu Inca sanctuary.
Embarking on the Salkantay Imperial Trek allows you to hike the Salkantay trail and explore the Amazon Jungle. The nature of the scenery here is distinct from other classic treks to Machu Picchu, as the views are less panoramic and more vertical, with mountains towering dramatically above. This trek, with its historical significance, stunning vistas, and rich Inca culture, undoubtedly justifies its esteemed reputation.
During the trek, you will have the opportunity to visit a variety of ancient Inca ruins, including Llactapata, an impressive archaeological site that offers views of the Machu Picchu citadel. You’ll also pass through traditional Andean villages and interact with local communities along the way, giving you a glimpse into their fascinating culture and way of life.
