TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR SALKANTAY TREK
1. Medical Conditions: It is essential that you inform us about any medical problems or allergies you may have. You must be in good physical health for the high altitude trekking. If you have any concerns about your health, please consult a doctor. For participants over the age of 65, a current medical certificate must be provided.
2. Independent Activities: If you wish to leave the group or camping area for independent walks or sightseeing, please notify your guide.
3. Guide Service: If you experience any issues with the guide or tours, please inform the guide immediately so that any problems can be resolved promptly.
4. Deposit and Refunds: Please note that the program deposit is non-refundable. The deposit covers the purchase of Machu Picchu entrance tickets, train tickets, and hotel bookings. Once a space is purchased, it cannot be resold. Sunrise Peru Trek will not provide any refunds if a participant cancels the trip prior to departure or during the trip. However, if Sunrise Peru Trek fails to confirm the reservation, a full refund will be issued.
5. Medical Declaration: Participants must declare any sickness or medical disorders they may have and bring their own medicines.

6. Identification: All participants must bring their original passport and, if available, their original student card “ISIC”.
7. Travel Insurance: It is mandatory for all clients to have personal travel insurance that covers personal accident, medical expenses, loss of effects, and any other expenses that may arise due to loss, damage, or injury occurring during the trip. Sunrise Peru Trek cannot be held responsible for any accidents or loss of personal belongings caused by the client.
8. Force Majeure: In the event of force majeure, such as extreme weather conditions, landslides, strikes, or any other unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, Sunrise Peru Trek will propose alternative solutions to operate the program within the available dates. If an alternative program of lower value is chosen by the client, a refund of the price difference will be issued. However, any additional costs incurred will be at the expense of the client. If no feasible alternatives can be provided, Sunrise Peru Trek will refund all the money paid, except for any expenses incurred so far.
9. Payment: The remaining balance must be paid upon arrival in Cusco in US Dollars cash or Peruvian soles. Credit/debit card payments are accepted with a 6% commission, and must be made 2 weeks prior to the Inca Trail. Contact us 2 weeks before the tour to confirm the final balance and commission, and make the payment through the online system with your reference code.
10. Student Discount: The park regulates the student discount, not Sunrise Peru Trek. Only ISIC cards are accepted if a clear copy was provided during the booking process. Youth Travel cards or International Teachers cards are not accepted by the park.
11. Change of Dates: Dates cannot be changed once a permit has been processed. Permits are non-transferable and non-refundable. The deposit will be forfeited. However, you can use part of the permit for Machu Picchu admission on other tours that have matching entrance dates.
12. Inclusions: The Inca Trail Classic 4D/3N package includes train transport return to Cusco (subject to availability), with the schedule confirmed a few days before the trek. Private bus connections from Ollantaytambo to Cusco are provided by Sunrise Peru Trek.

13. Illness/Injury: If you become ill or injured on the trail and are unable to continue, a porter will accompany you back to an area with emergency assistance capabilities. Helicopter air lifts and medical assistance are the responsibility of the passenger. If you fail to complete the tour due to illness, we will assist you in rejoining your group at Machu Picchu to continue the tour.
14. Liability: Sunrise Peru Trek takes all reasonable care to avoid accidents, illness, and loss of personal property. Suitably qualified staff will be employed. However, we cannot be held responsible for improper acts by clients or others.
