Inca Trail 2 Days

Inca Trail 2 Days is a remote and unfrequented Machu Picchu region that lies close to the Urubamba valley. The abrupt variation in altitude found here is astonishing. From Inti Punku or the sun gate one can easily view mountains including: Machu Picchu, Huaynapicchu, Putucusi and San Gabriel; the mix of mountain culture and natural wonder while enroute, gives a superb touch to the entire trekking experience.

The highlights of this trek are visit the Inca ruins of Chachabamba, Wiñayhuana, Sun gate and the most important is Machu Picchu a holy place perched at 2,400m, the dominating skyline & the life style of the nomadic people seemingly unchanged by time.

THE INCA TRAIL

Inca Trail was a perfect road system that began in Quito, Ecuador, passed through Cusco, and ended in what is now Tucuman – Argentina. This Trail annexed the actual countries of Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Bolivia and Argentina by extraordinary road system that crossed the mountain ranges of the Andes, with peak altitudes of more than 5,000 masl. As well as the Inca trail through the coast that ran parallel to the sea and was linked with many smaller routes.

The Incas built a vast network of roads to be able to communicate with the four regions of their huge empire. Currently There are remains of the Qhapaqñan throughout Peru that are still used to this day by local farmers sometimes accompanied by pack animals, The trails were used by the Incas with different purposes like: relaying messages, carried via knotted-cord named Quipu, for transporting goods and military deployment. The messages could be carried by Chasquis or runners; there were inns or Tambos, placed at even intervals along the trails. The inns provided food, shelter and military supplies to the travellers: there were corrals for Llamas and stored provisions such as corn, lima beans, dried potatoes, etc.
